Annual Meeting

ChALC Annual Meeting 12th October 2023

The 2023 Annual Meeting held at the more central venue of Helsby Community Sports Club, Callendar Way, Helsby WA6 0FX was attended by over 60 delegates representing some 43 councils.

Participants enjoyed an excellent buffet whilst networking with others and browsing the information stands : -

• KOMPAN UK – Millie Vozza. KOMPAN design, supply and install playgrounds and Millie has worked with several councils in the area.
• Sandstone Ridge Trust – Whose mission is to CONSERVE the natural beauty, special qualities and natural resources of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge, to CONNECT people with nature, heritage and the rural way of life. and to INSPIRE current and future generations to better understand and look after this unique area
• Cheshire Wildlife Trust – Christy Mageean, Wilder Communities Officer, brought along information about the the support CWT can provide to parish councils.
• CPRE Cheshire – Andrew Needham. A focus about on-shore wind farms.

Guest Speaker

Professor Andrew Hull from the Sandstone Ridge Trust gave a presentation about the work of the Trust and the proposed designation of the Cheshire Sandstone Ridge as an AONB.

Appointment of Board Members

In accordance with the Constitution, 3 Board members are required to step down in rotation and an election takes place. There were 5 nominees and those present were invited to select up to 3 candidates on the voting slip.
