NALC The National Association for Local Councils are the national equivalent of ChALC.  Their services are available to Councils in membership through the relevant County Associations.

Cheshire Community Action

(Formerly known as "Cheshire Community Council")

The Rural Community Council provides support for all voluntary groups in "old" Cheshire.  Town and Parish Councils can be members of the RCC.  This brings additional benefits of understanding and interacting with, voluntary and community groups in the Council area.  This is also the organisation to approach should you be interested in producing a Parish Plan for your area.

Standards Board The Standards Board for England is responsible for promoting high ethical standards and investigating allegations that councillors behaviour may have fallen short of the required standards.

CPRE Campaign for the Protection of Rural England are people who care passionately about the English countryside and campaign for it to be protected and enhanced for the benefit of everyone.
CPRE Cheshire Our local version of the above campaign.

Cheshire Landscape Trust Work at the grassroots level with community groups, including parish and town councils, schools and the Women's Institutes to promote landscape awareness and conservation through community action such as Local Agenda 21, Sustainable Development, the Cheshire Tree Warden Scheme, the Cheshire Orchard Project and practical projects including tree, hedgerow and orchard planting and the Cheshire Parish Tree and Hedgerow Surveys.
