The Cheshire Association of Local Councils (ChALC) is an independent body serving the needs of Parish and Town Councils (and Parish Meetings) (Local Councils) and representing their interests across Cheshire.
ChALC was founded in 1947 when local government reforms began after the Second World War. For more than sixty years now, ChALC has provided advice, representation, networking opportunities, services and support to member councils and parish meetings.
ChALC is affiliated to the National Association of Local Councils and works with colleagues in the region including the Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria Associations. We are pleased to work in partnership with the Principal Authorities of: Cheshire East Council; Cheshire West Council; Warrington Borough Council; Halton Borough Council and Trafford Metropolotian Borough Council.
ChALC is managed by an Executive Board whose members are democratically elected from within its membership and has a formal Constitution agreed by its Members at its Annual Meeting. If your Council would like to join our organisation then we would welcome your making contact.
Officer support is provided by one full time member of staff and three part time members of staff. The office is open from 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday and can be contacted by:
