The Cheshire Association of Local Councils (ChALC) is an independent body serving the needs of Parish and Town Councils (and Parish Meetings) (Local Councils) and representing their interests across Cheshire.
ChALC was founded in 1947 when local government reforms began after the Second World War. For more than sixty years now, ChALC has provided advice, representation, networking opportunities, services and support to member councils and parish meetings.
ChALC is affiliated to the National Association of Local Councils and works with colleagues in the region including the Lancashire, Merseyside and Cumbria Associations. We are pleased to work in partnership with the Principal Authorities of:

ChALC is managed by an Executive Board whose members are democratically elected from within its membership and has a formal Constitution agreed by its Members at its Annual Meeting. If your Council would like to join our organisation then we would welcome your making contact.

Effective Presentations’ Skills Workshop
Cranage Hall Hotel, Holmes Chapel – Tuesday 15th May 9.30 – 4.30
Aimed at supporting anyone needing to:
- present effectively both to and in meetings
- give an effective speech (such as at a civic function)
- respond confidently and effectively to ‘on the spot’ questions from press or public
ONLY 12 delegates per session!
Cost per person £225 (less £50 discount for ChALC members- £75 discount for Quality Councils who are also ChALC members)
